Ingredients
Scale
- 10–12 chicken wings (flats or drumsticks)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (or lemon juice)
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for a quick cleanup.
- Prepare the Chicken Wings: Use paper towels to pat the chicken wings dry this will help them crisp up. Then, toss the wings in a bowl with olive oil, salt, and pepper until they’re evenly coated.
- Bake the Wings: Lay the wings out in a single layer on the baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping them halfway through to ensure they cook evenly.
- Make the Honey Garlic Sauce: While the wings are baking, heat a small saucepan over medium heat. Add honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar. Stir constantly and bring to a simmer. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Add crushed red pepper flakes if you prefer a bit of heat.
- Coat the Wings: After the wings are cooked and crispy, take them out of the oven and transfer them to a large bowl. Drizzle the honey garlic sauce over the wings and toss them until they’re fully coated.
- Garnish and Serve: Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions, if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- Crispier Wings: For extra crispy wings, you can broil them for an additional 2-3 minutes after baking. Keep a close eye on them to prevent burning.
- Air Fryer Option: You can also cook the wings in an air fryer at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Storage: Leftover wings can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or air fryer for best results.
